Many medical and weight loss clinics offer sham treatments or overpromise results that are not based on evidence. They may also be run by people who haven’t undergone the rigorous training to become board-certified.

With Contigo Primary Care and Weight Loss, you can rest assured that you’ll be seeing your board-certified physician, who will provide evidence-based treatments. These are interventions that have been proven to work or, at the very least, have a low risk of harm. We also believe in partnering with our patients and not dictating to them about their treatment plans. We believe that patients should be involved in and understand their treatment plan. We listen to our patients and provide the services that will help them achieve their health goals in a safe and effective manner.

DOs and MDs undergo the same training. They both go to medical school, go to residency, and may go on to fellowships. They may both become licensed by the same licensing boards. They both have the same equivalent license to practice medicine unrestricted in all 50 states. Typically, both are seen working together in many areas of medicine.

However, DOs do receive additional training in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and also emphasize a holistic approach to treatment, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit.

This treatment is used to treat musculoskeletal (muscle, bone, ligament) pain and a wide range of health conditions. The treatment usually includes stretching, gentle pressure, and resistance to reduce pain, increase mobility, and promote healing. This treatment is only available in the office.
